YCS Kumbla Unit Celebrates Independence Day with Creative Competitions

Aug 18 On the occasion of Independence Day  the Young Catholic Students (YCS) Kumbla Unit organized a day filled with creative competitions for the youth of Kumbla Parish. The event was held under the guidance of Unit Director Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza and Animators Rev. Fr. Suraj Joseph Lobo and Sr. Asha Priya Lobo.

Students from LKG to Class 10 enthusiastically participated in a variety of competitions, including:

  1. Singing Competition
  2. Colouring Competition
  3. Drawing Competition
  4. Greeting Card Competition
  5. Collage Making Competition

The event was judged by Sr. Reena from Kayyar, Br. Aaron D’Souza from Bela, and Br. Snehal from Kollangana. Their efforts were much appreciated, and the competition saw tremendous talent and creativity from the participants.

  • 2nd Prize: Verinal Sweedal D’Souza (Class 1)
  • 3rd Prize: Angle Monica Montheiro (UKG)

Drawing Competition:

  • 1st Prize: Presly Jace D’Souza (Class 4)
  • 2nd Prize: Sourav Alaris (Class 4)
  • 3rd Prize: Delisha D’Souza (Class 3)

Greeting Card Competition:

  • 1st Prize: Princia Merlin Crasta (Class 6)
  • 2nd Prize: Avith Vivian D’Souza (Class 7)
  • 3rd Prize: Amvi Rachel Montheiro (Class 6)

Collage Making Competition:

  • 1st Prize: Ancitha Rodrigues (Class 10)
  • 2nd Prize: Flavia D’Souza (Class 8)
  • 3rd Prize: Reeya D’Souza (Class 8)

The day was a great success, showcasing the students’ creativity and patriotism.
